Sculpture Saadia Bahat donates the art work for the collections of the Museum

Sculpture “The Bereavement” (2013), donated by Saadia Bahat to the Vilna Gaon State Jewish Museum

Last year, on the initiative of the Embassy of Israel, the exhibition of the Litvak artist Saadia Bahat, currently living in Israel, was organized in Vilnius. Bahat also delivered the lecture about his life and art in the Tolerance Center of the Vilna Gaon State Jewish Museum. His exhibitions were also organized in Alytus, Ukmergė and Kaunas. Following this great cooperation Bahat surprised the team of the Vilna Gaon State Jewish Museum, coming to IV World Litvak Congress and brining the new sculpture „The Bereavement“ (2013), specially created for the collections of the Museum. On the 25th of September, 2013, the official donation ceremony took place in the Tolerance Center, where the exhibition of the photos, picturing Bahat‘s sculptures were also installed. This collection of the photographs was also donated by Bahat for the museum earlier on.
