On November 14 sitting of Lithuanian Parliament's Committee on Culture was held in the museum's Tolerance Center. The sitting, devoted to the issues of Jewish heritage, was attended by the head of the Committee Ramūnas Karbauskis, Minister of Culture Liana Ruokytė-Jonsson, Vice-Chancellor of the Government Deividas Matulionis, Parliamentarian, Signatory of Lithuania's Act of Independence Emanuelis Zingeris, Head of the Lithuanian Jewish Community Faina Kukliansky, Acting Head of the Good Will Foundation Indrė Rutkauskaitė, CEO of the NGO “Jerusalem of the North” Anna Avidan, representatives of Vilnius City Municipality. The Vilna Gaon State Jewish Museum was represented by its Director Markas Zingeris and the Head of Museum's Tolerance Center & Samuel Bak Museum. A variety of issues were discussed, including Museum’s development plans, preparations for 2020 – the Year of Vilna Gaon and Lithuanian Jewish History, commemoration of the site of the Great Synagogue of Vilna, restoration and care of abandoned Jewish cemeteries and synagogues.
