Feed your curiosity: in April the Vilna Gaon Museum of Jewish History is launching fast-paced but informative tours!
Every Tuesday at the Holocaust Exposition (Pamėnkalnio str. 12), listen to an English-language talk by educator Alexandra Impris about the Zivas family from Švėkšna.
Half the time, half the price - but definitely memorable!
Every Tuesday, we offer a tour of our temporary exhibition "Zivai. Unforgotten". During the tour, we provide historical context about the Holocaust in Lithuania, focusing on the experiences of the Zivas family from Švėkšna. Through this personal story, we explore the broader impact of the Holocaust on Lithuania’s Jewish communities, as well as the significance of the exhibits on display.
The exhibition "Zivai. Unforgotten" commemorates the 100th anniversary of Holocaust survivor Naftali Zivas. It features a unique collection of photographic works and a herbarium, offering a deeply personal and artistic perspective on memory, loss, and resilience.
The photographs, created using a special chlorophyll printing technique, bring to life the faces of the Zivas family and the Jewish community of Švėkšna, while the herbarium connects history to nature, symbolizing remembrance and survival.
