Patrons from Germany Mrs. Irene and Mr. Jörg Münstermann sent the special gift to our Museum, featuring works by world-renowned artists Lasar Segall (1889, Vilnius—1957, Sao Paulo) and Jankel Adler (1989, Lodz—1949, Aldbourne, Great Britain). Five graphic artworks by modernist Jankel Adler and three artworks by remarkable expressionist, Vilna born Lasar Segall will enrich Museum’s collections. Both artists belong to the same generation of the modernists.
According to the patrons, „History is not defined by political boundaries, it is an element of the common culture of Europe“. The Museum team is delighted to accept the artworks, created by exceptional artists, as well as to spread the message about their creations for Lithuania and the world. We extend our gratitude to Mr. Audrius Paura, who was so kind to mediate the donation process.
