20 September Gitanas Nausėda, the President of the Republic of Lithuania, according to the suggestion of the Vilna Gaon State Jewish Museum, awarded 38 persons who rescued Jews in various cities and districts of Lithuania during the Nazi occupation: Jonava, Kėdainiai, Anykščiai, Biržai, Lazdijai, Marijampolė, Šakiai, Plungė, Telšiai, Mažeikiai, Šalčininkai, Švenčionys districts. The four awarded are in our days, the other awarded after death.
