Today, on September 12th, the Vilna Gaon State Jewish Museum has received a generous gift – the artwork of Samuel Bak "Crossing" (oil on canvas, 2007). The painting was presented by Jerrold A. Zoloto, the President of the "Litvak World U. S.", representing Ms. Marcia Hall from Boston (USA), who's the dear friend of the Puckery Gallery (representing artist Samuel Bak). Marcia Hall kindly donates valuable artwork titled "Crossing" to the collections of the museum. During the meeting, the opportunities for cooperation with Chicago's art institutions as well as with the „Litvak World U.S.“ were discussed. Ms. Anna Avidan, the Director of the public institution "Šiaurės Jeruzalė" and a member of the board of "Litvak Word U.S.", also attended the meeting. She is person, who has built bridges between the museum and "Litvak World U.S.", enabling the fruitful cooperation.
This May the collection of the Vilna Gaon State Jewish Museum was complemented with fifty paintings, created by S. Bak between 1947 and 2017. The new works will be integrated into the existing exposition. The plans were made to expand the museum space and to establish an educational art center in the Samuel Bak Museum in the near future.
