After the reestablishment of the independence of Lithuania in 1990 many monuments and memorable plaques appeared in Vilnius that testify to the Jews’ contribution to Lithuanian culture. The books carries over a hundred of short descriptions of sites connected with Jews’ history and culture in Vilnius, their locations and names of the streets. The list of the memorable sites is divided into five chapters: the Beginning, Past, Holocaust, Jewish Cemeteries and the Present.
The book is richly illustrated.
